DIGITAL SME Blockchain Summit 2020 | Powered by Block.IS

Blockchain technology is experiencing hype. We see blockchain talked about as a technology disrupting a wide range of sectors: finance, contract law or even agriculture. While it has not yet become mainstream, it has still moved beyond experimentation. However, some basic questions about how this technology can have a real-life impact have not yet been answered. Why and in what cases do we really need blockchain technology? Is it really the technology that will help us revolutionise certain processes completely? How do we make sure that SMEs benefit and make the most of this technology?

During the DIGITAL SME Blockchain Summit, these questions will be addressed in conversation with policymakers and entrepreneurs, through the presentation of best practices and case studies. The conference will allow participants to better understand the benefits of the adoption and use of blockchain technology and to learn about ongoing EU initiatives. Further, the conference will examine the wider impact blockchain technology could have on the economy and society. As SMEs are the backbone of the EU economy, the discussion will focus on making sure that SMEs and the European economy as a whole will be able to benefit from blockchain technology by keeping it open to SMEs and ensuring that basic blockchain infrastructure will be suitable for small companies.

Block.IS offers the necessary financial, business and technical support for the SMEs willing to develop the innovative blockchain-based solutions in the sectors of agri-food, logistics, and finance. European DIGITAL SME Alliance – a Block.IS Project Partner – organises the DIGITAL SME Blockchain Summit.
