The first round of Open Calls, a gateway to entering €2.8 million of equity-free funding accelerator programme for blockchain-based innovative ideas and solutions has closed with more than 100 applications! The first call of the two to be held under Block.IS wing has attracted the best 118 innovative Startups & SMEs from most important sectors of EU economy, namely forty-two applicants from agrifood, fifty-nine from the finance sector, forty-two from logistics, among which thirty-three of them are cross-sectoral.
Block.IS’ Open Calls are held as part of a 3-phase acceleration programme, aiming to lift and support innovative solutions with the potential to create impact, as well as to support the market uptake. 45 successful applicants from each round of Open Calls will have the opportunity to dive in the first stage of the acceleration programme. With this approach and through various stages of the acceleration programme, 23 best and most innovative, competitive and market-oriented blockchain-based application proposals in each round will get the chance to not only improve growth and market uptake but also receive expert training and feedback, improving their entrepreneurial skills and potential.
