The Block.IS Project announces the Top 10 Innovators! In the course of the next 2 months, most successful participants will engage further – in what represents the last stage on their way to market!
After INNOVATE and EXPERIMENT phase successfully conducted, Block.IS is proud to present the Top 10 participants which will carry on to the next and last – COMMERCIALISE Stage. They are entrepreneurs addressing challenges across three verticals: agrifood, logistics and financial sector with blockchain as a common nominator and building block for their solutions. These SMEs, by tackling some of the most important sectors of the EU economy, will contribute to re-industrialisation through innovation and digital intelligence.
During the last week of September, Block.IS Ecosystem merged at the Online Demo Day Event that aimed to present the excellent results obtained during the Experiment Stage and gave the opportunity to its beneficiaries to showcase their 8-month development.
The event served to select the best 10 Startups and SMEs that will advance from the Experiment to the Commercialise Stage. After Technical & Business Evaluation that took place during the first day of the event, the most interesting part – pitching session – took place the second day of the event.
After combining marks from Block.IS Expert Jury Members – Pedro Roseiro, Irena Pavlova and Grigoris Chatzikostas – final 10 winners were selected and awarded a spot in the next Stage.
The next step: COMMERCIALISATION.
Since Block.IS is a mentorship-driven accelerator programme, in this last phase the top 10 participants with a solid Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and demonstrated market potential will get the chance to engage with the investors, detect investment opportunities, as well as build partnerships in their respective niche and beyond – ensuring the sustainability even post project. Although significantly affected by COVID-19 imposed situation, Block.IS and its participants have proved resilient, successfully conducting, and participating in the activities previously held in face to face mode and now in the online format. Therefore, it is yet to be determined in which formats further engagement of the top 10 with investors and wider ecosystem will take place. The end-goal of the created synergies is to provide enough traction for the investments, in particular in terms of sales, prospects, users, markets and customers.
Lastly, it is the effort, solutions and growth of all 23 participants that pitched their products today that are impressive. Throughout the last two phases, they have gained the skills, maturity, insight and confidence to keep going and astonish the investors and innovators alike in the future.
